Large Family garden design, St Albans
The bottom of the garden was redesigned to make a contemporary parterre with box edging and pleached trees framing the entrance. Borders lined with box contain flowers for cutting, herbs, fruit, and scented planting nearest the seating area. Other areas of the garden are linked in design terms, but each has a slightly different mood. They include a grasses border, and an area of woodland style planting where existing Garrya elliptica have had their crowns raised to make a feature of their elegant multistems.Click on the images for a full description...
